Equipment
The Department of Flight Mechanics, Flight Control and Aeroelasticity is equipped with various large and small research devices.
Flight Simulators
The department has several flight simulators for research and teaching. They were used to test new concepts in virtual flight tests and evaluated by pilots. The following simulators are available:
- SEPHIR
- THYRAS
- Hardware-in-the-Loop Simulator
- Activ Sidestick
Measuring Instruments
The department has several measuring instruments for practical measurements in the fields of flight mechanics, flight control and aeroelasticity. Some of these can be installed directly in the aircraft or used for measurements on the ground. These measuring systems are:
- Flight measurement system
- Inertial/GPS coupled navigation and measurement system (IMAR iTraceRT-F200)
- Structural vibration measurement system (LMS SCADAS Recorder 5)
- Actuator test bench
